Pluktuin IJzendoorn

Pluktuin IJzendoorn

Located between Echteld and IJzendoorn in the Betuwe region, this colourful garden offers a tranquil and inspiring environment. It is designed with park-like circular paths, which are wide enough to be accessible for visitors with disabilities. The garden opens its doors for visitors from February 1st each year, with self-picking opportunities becoming available from July 1st. It operates from Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00 to 17:00.

The primary attraction is the vibrant fields of annual summer flowers, where guests can pick their own bouquets. Children are particularly welcome, with activities like playing in a sandpit and a play kitchen, as well as the chance to taste fruit. The garden features various shrubs, perennials, grasses, and fruit trees, contributing to its diverse natural beauty. After picking, visitors can arrange their bouquets at a dedicated flower arranging area, with assistance from staff and packaging materials provided.

Beyond the picking fields, the garden hosts a cozy, nostalgically decorated terrace serving tea, coffee, and biological juices, accompanied by treats like cake with strawberries or other seasonal fruit. There is a special ‘picking arrangement’ available, which includes beverages, cake, and self-picking flowers for €17.50 per person, with reservations recommended for groups exceeding ten people. The location also offers workshops, primarily in autumn, though these tend to book up quickly.

Adjacent to the picking garden is ‘De Tuinderij,’ a nursery cultivating over a thousand types of unsprayed plants, including indigenous plants, perennials, roses, shrubs, kitchen herbs, and medicinal herbs, all grown on-site. These plants are available for purchase, allowing visitors to select items that suit their own gardens.

The establishment emphasizes respectful treatment of the garden, aiming to maintain it as a beautiful and joyful place for all.
