Landwinkel De Verse Kers

Landwinkel De Verse Kers

This farm, located in the Wehlse Broeklanden near Wehl, is a diverse agricultural enterprise cultivating sweet cherries and raising Dexter cattle and pigs.

During the summer season, visitors have the opportunity to self-pick sweet cherries from the farm’s 1.5-hectare orchard, which cultivates approximately 15 different varieties. The cherry season typically runs from mid-June to early August.

The farm features a “Landwinkel” (farm shop) that offers a broad selection of local and homemade products. These include fresh fruits and vegetables (with some produce like Agria potatoes, turnip greens, greenhouse beans, vine tomatoes, chicory, apples, and pears sourced from regional growers), various cuts of meat from the farm’s own Dexter cattle and pigs, artisanal cheeses and dairy products from local producers (such as organic goat cheese and buffalo yogurt), a range of homemade salads, and ready-made meals. Additionally, the shop provides farmer’s delicacies such as juices, nuts, chocolates (including cherry bonbons), cookies, local honey, wines, and gift baskets.

For refreshments, the “Koffieschuur” (coffee barn) operates from Thursday to Saturday, serving coffee, homemade cakes, and lunch, with views overlooking the pig farrowing rooms. A “Rustpunt” (relaxation point) is accessible seven days a week, providing self-service coffee, toilet facilities, e-bike charging, and local information, also situated near the pig enclosures.

The farm is home to Dexter cattle, pigs, donkeys, and sheep, with guided tours available for groups. Seasonal activities, such as winter walks and open days, are also organized. The farm is self-sufficient in electricity and implements nature-inclusive and regenerative farming practices, including natural pest control methods in its cherry cultivation.
